The Eureka Springs Abendschone Chapter of the DAR pays tribute to thirty-two members that are interred at the Eureka Springs Cemetery. This photo is taken at the burial sites of several of the founding members, in 1951, of the Chapter. Organizing members were Ruth Fuller Cross, Ruth’s mother, May Obenshain Fuller, Dorothy Fuller Mathews, and Beulah Pitts McBee (May’s niece). Obenshain is said to be the “Americanized” version of the name Abendschone.
Each of the interred members in the cemetery are easily located via a GPS/ QR code, available at this location. For more information about Abendschone Chapter, visit website http://www.abendschoneDAR.com.
