The Abendschone Chapter, NSDAR in Eureka Springs, celebrated the 128th anniversary of the founding of DAR and the National Day of Service at their monthly meeting on October 11, 2018.

Suzie Bell, Eureka Christian Health Outreach (ECHO) co-founder, presented a program on ECHO Village.

The project, located in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on Passion Play Road near Hwy 62, is meant to meet the community’s needs for affordable housing. With the help of the World Mission Builders, community volunteers, and generous donations, the vision will soon be a reality. Eight small, charming, individual houses are scheduled to be ready for occupancy in November 2019. More homes are being planned, as well as community amenities.

DAR was founded on the ideals of service and members have been dedicated to giving back to their communities through volunteer initiatives ever since.
