The local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Eureka Springs, Abendschone Chapter NSDAR, met at Peachtree Village at Holiday Island on October 12, 2019 to celebrate the DAR National Day of Service.
On hand was the guest speaker, President of the Board for Good Shepherd Human Society, with his therapy dog Artie. (GSHS) and gave an informative program on the shelter, its operation, and its subsequent needs. In turn, the Chapter ladies donated goods and monies toward operation of GSHS.
A long time Abendschone Chapter member was honored for her community service. She was given a DAR special recognition certificate for ‘exemplary service to the Abendschone Chapter NSDAR and to the community of Carroll County Arkansas.’
She has been an inspiration for her many years and many types of volunteer service.
