At the June 14, 2019 Flag Day ceremony at the local Holiday Island Elks Lodge, members of the Abendschone Chapter, NSDAR participated, in costume, as flag bearers. Pictured in front of the flag display, representing several historic American flags ranging from pre-Revolution to the current 50 star version, are those members attending the ceremony.

On May 17, Abendschone Chapter, NSDAR of Eureka Springs, Arkansas held an event at the historic Eureka Springs Cemetery to mark the graves of past chapter members. Continue reading
The members of the Abendschone Chapter NSDAR met at the Equity Bank in Eureka Springs Thursday, May 9, 2019.
The featured speaker was retired Air Force Major Gary Norris. He gave the background information regarding the June 6, 1944 D-Day invasion on the beaches of Normandy, D-Day: Operation Overlord.
The success of this massive effort of the WWII Allies helped deliver the soon-to-be defeat of Nazi-Germany in Western Europe.

The winners are Brian Hall of Berryville HIgh School, Makenzie Meyer of Eureka Springs high School, and Trinity McMahan of Green Forest High School. Also pictured is Dana Sue Busch, DAR Good Citizens committee chair.
On February 14, 2019, at the Community Bank in Berryville, the Abendschone Chapter, NSDAR conducted the 2018-19 award ceremony honoring local high school seniors.
The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship.
